Oh, To Be a Delta Girl!

 

On behalf of Greenville Mississippi Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., I am excited to welcome you to our little corner of the Delta “world.”  Here you will be able to read about the Greenville MS Alumnae Chapter’s work in the community and see upcoming events that we have planned.  Through this website, you can share in our joy in our sisterhood!

 

Our organization was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two innovative, visionary women whose commitment to making a difference in this world and in our communities has defined our past and shaped our future.  Our Founders restlessness and dissatisfaction with the status quo was the foundation that led to the creation of the greatest organization in the world; one that has grown to include over 900 chapters and over 350,000 college educated women.  As a member that has experienced the joy of being “A Delta Girl” for the past twenty-nine years, I am both proud and grateful to be a part of a sisterhood that has always thought outside the box and defied boundaries.

 

Our history as an organization is a great one but greatness is never final and the story of Delta Sigma Theta is still being written.   Greenville (MS) Alumnae Chapter has been carrying the torch that the Founders passed since January 27, 1980 and we aren’t tired yet!    In the words of our International President, Elsie Cooke Holmes “Forward with Fortitude!”
